3D images
3D images of your products | What are 3D images?
First of all 3D images is a collective term for all images that contain 3dimensional information so an observer can see the image (with special 3D glasses) in a 3D effect which adds more experience and reality. These 3D images are also called stereoscopic images or stereograms. 3D images can be created with 2 or more cameras or by rendering a 3D model or scene from multiple angles.

Secondly the term 3D images also refers to images, renders or 3D photographs that are generated with 3D software. These 3D images can look like 3D illustrations or drawings but also like real photography. 3D images that are rendered correctly can represent reality so that an observer cannot see the difference between real photographs and computer generated images.
How are 3D images used?
Both types of 3D images are nowadays used in several branches such as medical science, PR, promotion, marketing and communication. In the marketing 3D (stereoscopic) images are e.g. used in ads, brochures and other printed materials. Rendered 3D images are more and more replacing traditional photography and video in all kind of communication expression. Think of e.g. photography for ads, packshots, special effect photography and TV commercials.
