3D marketing campaign | What is 3D marketing?
3D marketing is the merger of the two fields of activity: 3D and marketing. There are two applications:
- Using 3D image material to market your product, service or company
- Utilizing 3D hardware to market your product, service or company
In the first application of 3D marketing, 3D software is applied to visualize a product or service and convert it into a marketing expression such as product video, CGI photography, animation, interactive product demos, etc. All intended to position a company, product or service in the market and -in most cases- ultimately sell more of the product or service.
The second application of 3D marketing uses 3D hardware to market a product. It’s often a combination which content (previous 3D marketing application) and hardware. For this type of 3D marketing you can think of 3D stereoscopic screens (3D displays) on Point of Sales, a printed 3D mailing with or without 3DD glasses or holographic imaging on trade shows.
A book on 3D marketing?
In the field of 3D marketing as described above, there’s no book available yet. There is however a Belgian book on the market called 3D marketing (http://www.molblog.nl/bericht/3D-Marketing-voor-DDDummies), but that has nothing to do with the explained 3D marketing here. This book covers the marketing topic segmenting the markets based on ideas of Philip Kotler.
