A 3D Packshot (or 3D Pack Shot) is a still image or product photograph created (i.e. rendered ) by 3D software so basically created or generated by a computer.

Why make use of 3D packshots?
The possibilities of 3D packshots are much higher than normal packshots. The creator of a 3D packshot has full control of the product and its appearance in terms of materials, reflections, lighting. Furthermore 3D packshots images are generated by a computer so the quality is unrivaled and there’s no expansive retouching necessary. Last but not least is the fact that on approval a 3D packshot can easily be altered and changed very fast in case the packshot isn’t according to the wishes of the client or when the final product goes through some last minute changes in terms of branding, colors or other visual changes (from final prototype to actual product).
